• Update On The Sasha Banks – Naomi Situation

It’s been over two weeks since Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of RAW. They are no longer the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and WWE hasn’t announced any plan for the tournament to crown the new champions yet.

In an update from Fightful Select, there has been no contact between Sasha/Naomi and WWE ever since the incident took place, and WWE has now canceled all upcoming travel reservations that Sasha & Naomi had for various WWE events.

During an interview with Ariel Helwani, WWF Veteran Lance Storm said the following about this situation:

“Maybe there was a dispute over that that led to other frustrations that was the straw that broke the camel’s back, but I just can’t fathom, ‘We don’t wanna do this six-person match and then singles programs the next pay-per-view, we’re leaving,’ I just don’t buy that.

I know Sasha a little bit, I don’t really know Naomi, but that’s way too irrational to me.”

• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (June 1, 1998) – Old School WWF Legend Passed Away

On this day in 1998, we lost Old School WWF Legend The Junkyard Dog (Real name: Sylvester Ritter) at the age of 45.

After becoming a huge Territory Star in Bill Watts’ Mid-South Wrestling, JYD joined the World Wrestling Federation in 1984 and jumped ship to WCW in December of 1988, just a few day after Ted Turner bought Jim Crockett Promotions and renamed it.

The Junkyard Dog’s last major Pro Wrestling appearance came 1 month before he passed away, when he was involved in an in-ring segment at ECW Wrestlepalooza 1998.
