Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring an update on Elias and a tag team leaving the company:

– After his partnership with former WWE wrestler Jaxson Ryker ended in the summer of 2021, WWE had Elias declare on RAW that his character was dead.

He was written off WWE programming for almost 9 months following that segment, and returned to RAW on the night after WrestleMania 38 with a new look and a new name “Ezekiel”.

Ezekiel claimed that he was the younger brother of Elias and feuded with Kevin Owens for a few months, who tried to prove that Ezekiel and Elias were the same person.

After Triple H took over as the Chief Content Officer of WWE last year, Elias wasn’t used much and has made sporadic appearances on television since then.

His last appearance for WWE was on the May 15th episode of RAW, where he competed in a Battle Royal to challenge GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship at Night Of Champions.

According to insider source BWE, Elias is currently not under a “professional contract” with WWE.

He is listed as a free agent on WWE’s website as he was not picked by any brand during the Draft earlier this year.

There were reports of Elias’ WWE contract expiring at the end of last year.

– WWE NXT’s Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler, known as The Dyad of The Schism, asked for their release from WWE earlier this year. However, the company denied their release so they were waiting for their contracts to expire.

On this week’s episode of NXT, Joe Gacy and Ava Raine were in the forest with a burnt tree, saying that there were now “two roots”. This was likely a reference to Reid and Fowler.

According to the Wrestling Observer, The Dyad are gone from WWE as their contracts have finally expired.

The Dyad weren’t happy about WWE repackaging them to their current gimmick and making them drop the Grizzled Young Veterans character.
