CM Punk returned to AEW back in June, on the debut episode of Collision, after being out of action for 9 months.

He suffered a torn left triceps in the main event of All Out 2022 and then got into a brawl with The Elite later that night.

There were mixed reactions from people in the AEW locker room to Punk’s return. However, AEW President Tony Khan was very happy about the biggest star of his company returning.

According to PWTorch, when CM Punk returned to AEW after his hiatus, Khan stood up backstage in the gorilla position with his headset on, and started pumping his fist and chanting “C.M. Punk!” enthusiastically as Punk walked past him.

Punk revealed a while ago that he apologised to Khan for causing problems for him last summer, but apparently those problems are still there and seem to be increasing day-by-day as Punk now has problems with more people in AEW.

The feeling among talent backstage in AEW is that it’s the right choice to not be on Punk’s enemies list due to his star power.

While speaking to Battle & Eli on Battleground, Tony had the following to say about Punk taking at shot at “Hangman” Adam Page after Collision went off the air this past Saturday:

“I thought it was a great show on Saturday night. I don’t have any further comment to that, but I’m glad people are still very interested in our wrestlers and what’s happening after the wrestling shows.

We’ll try to have a couple of great shows this week, and certainly, there has been a lot of interest in what’s happening in AEW in it and out of the ring.”
