• Update Regarding Former World Champion Returning To WWE – Expected To Be On SmackDown Live
Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio is having himself a busy 2018. The 43-year-old Luchador has already returned to the WWE twice for Royal Rumble matches, made a few New Japan appearances and has been announced for ALL IN on Sept. 1 in Chicago.
According to the Wrestling Observer, Mysterio is “very close” to returning to WWE as a full time wrestler. The talks of a contract between Mysterio and WWE have been going on since he made his return at Royal Rumble 2018 earlier this year.
Mysterio isn’t booked for any event after ALL IN (on September 1st) which means he might be returning to the company shortly afterwards.
As we noted before, the Dirty Sheets previously reported that Mysterio is set to return to WWE programming as a member of SmackDown Live sometime after SummerSlam 2018 PPV.
He recently spoke with Noelle Foley at San Diego Comic Con where he revealed that he wants to end his career in WWE.
“It is in my agenda. I would definitely like to close out my career with WWE,” Mysterio said. “With that being said, I don’t have much left on my watch. So I’m thinking anywhere from three to five years and I can really see a possible return to WWE without a doubt.”
