UPDATE: This was an April Fools’ Day joke!

Just a few weeks before WWE’s WrestleMania 41 premium live event, Vince McMahon has shook up the wrestling world with his groundbreaking announcement – he is BACK in the sports entertainment business and he is the new owner of TNA Wrestling.

This news comes a month after TNA President Anthony Cicione resigned from his role.

McMahon, who publicly announced his retirement from WWE in 2022, and completely left TKO Group Holdings in 2024, will be the new creative head of TNA iMPACT, which airs every Thursday.

There were rumors of Vince starting a new entertainment company by hiring former WWE executives, with some people speculating that it could be a new wrestling company, but Vince ended up buying an already established promotion.

Vince McMahon issued the following statement through his PR team:

“I, Vince McMahon, have made history once again by buying a company that at one point was my competitor (not really). I am proud to announce that at almost 80 years old, I am back in the business that I have loved since childhood, a business that runs in my veins, a business that has given me everything I have today. I am the new CEO of TNA Wrestling.

A new era of TNA has begun and the promotion, under my creative prowess, which reach heights it has never seen before. You think Hulk Hogan bringing 3 million viewers to iMPACT in his debut was TNA’s highest point? Wait until I make my grand return to TV, pal!

One of my mains goals with TNA is to show the world that I am still THAT guy. A bunch of fake allegations can’t stop me. I was forced to give up my beloved company and I absolutely hate what my son-in-law is going with the creative. I mean, why the hell would you turn John Cena heel? His booking makes no sense, dammit! And why is CM Punk main eventing WrestleMania?

Paul, you have ruined WrestleMania and I’m disappointed. Hell, the fans are disappointed. But it’s okay. Because once fans watch ‘TNA Colossal Tussle’ on Sunday, April 20, they will forget everything about WrestleMania.

I would like to close my statement by announcing that I will be making my return to TV on this Thursday’s episode of iMPACT. This appearance will be my official TNA debut, and this episode will also feature the debut of a certain ‘Beast’ I know. Stay tuned!”

It looks like today’s date, April 1st, will go down in history!
