• Vince McMahon Turned Down Hall Of Famer’s Pitch To Win Both The WWE Title & World Title At WrestleMania 20

During an interview on Throwing Down w/ Renee & Miesha, WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley recalled having a meeting with Vince McMahon in late-2003, about his in-ring return.

Foley said he pitched the idea of him winning the 2004 Royal Rumble match and then going on to win both the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 20.

Vince didn’t like the idea and immediately turned it down.

Below is what the former WWF Champion said:

“I said, ‘I’d like to enter the Rumble and win it, and because I’m technically not a SmackDown or a RAW guy, I would like to challenge both Champions to a 3-way match, win that at ‘Mania, and become the Undisputed Champion.’

And without even blinking, Vince just replies, ‘I have no interest whatsoever in doing that.’”

Instead of what Foley pitched, the following ended up happening at WrestleMania 20:

– Evolution (Ric Flair, Batista & Randy Orton) def. The Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection (The Rock & Mick Foley)

– Eddie Guerrero (c) def. Kurt Angle to retain the WWE Championship

– Chris Benoit def. Triple H (c) and Shawn Michaels in a Triple Threat Match to win the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event
