Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day, featuring Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega.
• “We smoke them in every field of wrestling” – Will Ospreay On WWE
Will Ospreay is not backing down from his stance on WWE. In a new interview, the AEW star made bold claims about how All Elite Wrestling compares to WWE — and he didn’t hold back.
Speaking with Josh Martinez on Z100’s Superstar Crossover, Ospreay said, “We smoke them in every field of wrestling. Mate, we’re just better.” He added, “I respect them. I respect every single one of them there. They’re all vets. They all know what they’re doing. They’re great at their job. They understand getting people on their feet. But we are so much more of a better wrestling company than them. Our guys smoke them every single day of the week.”
Ospreay mentioned some WWE names he respects but still doubled down on AEW’s superiority. “They’ve got good guys, like Gunther. They’ve got great guys, like Randy Orton. They’ve got good guys, like Chad Gable. I respect all of them, but on our worst day, we smoke all of you guys.”
In another interview with the Daily Star, Ospreay criticized WWE’s biggest show of 2025. “I haven’t watched WrestleMania, but from what I’ve heard, it wasn’t the best one — maybe IYO, Rhea, and Bianca had the only really sick match. Those three are incredible, three of the best, period.”
Ospreay admitted he doesn’t enjoy WWE’s product in general. “I respect it, and I respect the people doing it — the schedule is insane, and I commend them for it. I just don’t like the show. I don’t like the style of wrestling or the presentation. It has gotten better — I love the one-shots they’ve been doing — but I’ve never been a big fan.”
Even when it comes to mic skills, Ospreay didn’t hold back. “Honestly, on my worst day, I think I’m better than a lot of their guys — in-ring and on the mic.”
Despite the strong words, Ospreay made it clear he still has respect for WWE talent — just not the product.

• “Couple of WrestleManias down the road, the main event’s gonna be Logan Paul vs. Mr. Beast” – Kenny Omega
Kenny Omega shared his concerns about the growing presence of influencers in entertainment during a recent interview with Adi Shankar. The two discussed how social media fame has made it easier for people with little or no experience to land major roles in wrestling and Hollywood.
Omega used wrestling as an example, pointing to Logan Paul as someone who entered the WWE spotlight with limited background. He suggested the trend could go even further in the future.
“I’ve said it before, I don’t think — I don’t know if I’ve ever said it publicly or not, but I mean, I think we’re headed on a path where it’s like, a couple of WrestleManias down the road, the main event’s gonna be Logan Paul vs. Mr. Beast,” Omega said.
He questioned how much actual wrestling experience or dedication would matter in that kind of scenario. “It’s like, what is the wrestling acumen? How many miles have they put into it? It’s like, does it matter? This is process of evolution.”
Omega’s comments reflect his concern about where the industry is heading as entertainment becomes more focused on popularity over experience.
