Many fans were expecting former 2-time NXT Champion Bron Breakker (son of WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner) to get drafted to RAW or SmackDown, but that didn’t happen.
The reason for that is WWE wants Breakker spend some more time on NXT after his recent heel turn, where he’s showing a new vicious side of him that fans are enjoying even more than his babyface character.
At the NXT Battleground premium live event, Breakker will challenge Carmelo Hayes for the NXT Championship.
Had WWE drafted Breakker, then the result of this upcoming main event match would’ve been very predictable, as Breakker would’ve put over Hayes again before leaving for the main roster.
We’ll keep you updated regarding Bron’s status. He’s currently scheduled to face Trick Williams (Carmelo’s buddy) on next week’s NXT.
Speaking of this NXT Battleground premium live event, it will go head-to-head against the AEW Double Or Nothing 2023 pay-per-view on May 28th.
