WWE will crown the new World Heavyweight Champion at the Night Of Champions 2023 premium live event in Saudi Arabia on May 27th.
The following 12 names were selected for the tournament to crown the inaugural champion:
– Seth Rollins
– Shinsuke Nakamura
– Sheamus
– The Miz
– Damian Priest
– Edge
– Rey Mysterio
– Finn Balor
– Bobby Lashley
– AJ Styles
– Austin Theory (United States Champion)
– Cody Rhodes
Since the US Champion is in the tournament, many fans questioned why Intercontinental Champion Gunther wasn’t booked in the tournament, especially given how he hasn’t been pinned since making his main roster debut in 2022.
According to insider source BoozerRasslin, Gunther is currently on his Honeymoon. He recently got married to former NXT UK wrestler Jinny.

Gunther will return to WWE TV on next week’s RAW. The RAW side of the World Title tournament has already ended, with Seth Rollins advancing to the Finals.
The other tournament finalist from SmackDown will be determined this Friday.
