• Why “New Rey Mysterio” Didn’t Appear At Last Night’s NXT Vengeance Day
At NXT premium live events, WWE usually has their latest signing seated at ringside, to hype up their upcoming debut.
WWE recently signed top indy wrestler Dragon Lee (age 27) to NXT, but he didn’t appear on last night’s NXT Vengeance Day show.
According to the Wrestling Observer, Lee couldn’t appear due to visa issues:
“They didn’t, they’re not relying on bringing in so many indy guys. I’m sure they wanted to introduce Dragon Lee, but he’s having visa issues, so he’s not there yet.”
After signing with WWE, Dragon Lee noted that he thinks he can be the new Rey Mysterio in the company.
Below is what he said:
“I think I can become the new Rey Mysterio in WWE. I just need the opportunity. [Finn Balor] told me, ‘Would you like to be in WWE?’ (laughs). I said, ‘Yeah, sure. Why not?’ It was something special for me. It’s my challenge to learn more about promos.
You will never finish learning in pro wrestling. But every time you wrestle, you learn. But about promos, it’s something new for me. I would like to learn something new, how to become not just a wrestler – an artist.”

– 2x ROH World Tag Team Champion
– 1x IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion
– 2x CMLL World Lightweight Champion
