Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Stephanie Vaquer and Bret Hart.
• Stephanie Vaquer, who recently left CMLL and NJPW, has signed with WWE and made her first in-ring appearance for the company at Live Events in Mexico City and Monterrey on July 13 and 14, where she competed against Women’s Tag Team Champion Isla Dawn and won.
According to Fightful Select, Vaquer is expected to debut on NXT after completing her move to Orlando:
“She’s got to get the move done. She’s signed and now she has to relocate. They will give her some time for that.”
Vaquer has also wrestled in AEW. At the recent AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door PPV, she lost the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship to TBS Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone (Sasha Banks).

• During an interview with SK Wrestling, Matt Riddle recalled his meeting with Bret Hart backstage at a WrestleMania.
The former United States Champion said he was ignored by the 2-time WWE Hall of Famer:
“That’s also another reason why I’m not a huge fan (of Goldberg). Big Hitman fan. I will say this, though, big Hitman fan growing up, right? Not happy with Bill with what he did, right? But then I met Bret at a WrestleMania, and I was at catering. If you’ve ever been, it’s pretty nice, you know?
So I’m at catering, I’m enjoying it, and I get a table with Bret Hart and I’m like, ‘Oh, this is cool’. I’m not gonna be a super mark, but I’m gonna ask a couple of questions, it’s The Hitman.
Bret wouldn’t even respond to me or my friend Damian Priest at the time because we were sitting next to some pretty attractive ladies. [Bret] asked them about their work rate, this, that, and the other, you know? Didn’t ask me and Priest a single (question), you know? We didn’t talk.”
