• Why TBS Official Said AEW Brings In 4 Million Viewers Every Wednesday

As seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan’s important announcement was that a new weekly show called AEW All Access, a 1-hour behind the scenes show, will begin airing in March.

In TBS’ press release, Jason Sarlanis (President, Turner Networks, ID, & HLN. Linear and Streaming) said the following:

“AEW has such an amazingly loyal and dedicated fan base that brings in more than 4 million viewers to TBS every Wednesday night.”

This statement raised a lot of questions, as Dynamite draws 1 million viewers at most on Wednesday nights.

Brandon Thurston asked Warner Bros. Discovery about this statement and here’s what he was told:

“I’m told the measurement pertains to viewers who watched at least 1 minute of TBS on Wednesday from 7pm-12am, each week on average in 2022.

A WBD spokesperson told Wrestlenomics: “We attribute most of that success to AEW Dynamite.”

That measurement would therefore include non-AEW programming from 7pm to 8pm and 10pm to 12am, which would include The Big Bang Theory, among the best-performing reruns on cable, in the hour before Dynamite.

According to our data, AEW Dynamite averaged 960,000 viewers live+same-day (average viewers minute-by-minute, as opposed to unique >=1 minute viewers) in 2022.”
