On the September 16, 1999 episode of WWF SmackDown!, Mr. McMahon challenged WWF World Champion Tripl H for the title.
Shane McMahon was the special guest referee.
After 8 minutes, Vince McMahon defeated Triple H and became the new WWF Champion of the world.
About a year later in WCW, Vince Russo copied that angle, when he ran a similar storyline where he won the WCW World Title.
