4. David Angle, Brother of Kurt Angle, Pleads Guilty To Killing His Wife
WTAE.com posted the following regarding Kurt Angle’s brother pleading guilty to killing his wife:
David Angle, the 63-year old brother of former Olympics and World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. wrestler Kurt Angle, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to killing his wife, Donna Angle, at their Dormont home last fall.
“It was really a product of alcohol. And there was a domestic fight where she started smacking him and he stopped her from doing that. His knees were on her chest and basically she suffocated. And he was intoxicated as well and it was almost accidental,” defense attorney Bill Diffenderfer told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4.
“He’s in complete disbelief that he doesn’t have his wife. They’ve been married for 26, 27 years. He loves her. He misses her every day and he’s just devastated by what happened,” Diffenderfer said.
David Angle will be sentenced on September 20. He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison but Difenderfer said sentencing guidelines could put his sentence closer to two years. David Angle remains in the Allegheny County Jail.
