On this day in Pro Wrestling history in 1987, Sherri Martel made her debut in the World Wrestling Federation and defeated The Fabulous Moolah to capture the WWF Women’s Championship.

She would then call herself “Sensational Sherry” and held the Championship for over a year. You can watch her Title win below:

On this day in Pro Wrestling history in 1999, Edge defeated Jeff Jarrett In Toronto, Ontario, Canada to win the Intercontinental Title. Ken Shamrock was originally scheduled to be Jarrett’s opponent but he couldn’t reach the show. Edge was named the replaced and he didn’t even know that he was going to win the Title that night. Edge went on to the lose the Title the very next night at Fully Loaded 1999 (back to Jeff Jarrett).

On this day in Pro Wrestling history in 2001, Kurt Angle defeated Booker T at a SmackDown taping to win the WCW Championship. You can watch it below:

On this day in Pro Wrestling history in 2005, The Great American Bash 2005 aired. It featured the final appearance of Muhammad Hassan as WWE had to removed him from their Programming due to a Terrorist angle related to him being aired on the same day of the London bombings.
