• WWE Files Trademarks For Ring Names Of 2 Former Stars

On February 23rd, WWE filed trademarks for the ring names of the following 4 wrestlers:

Drew McIntyre

Dolph Ziggler

Zack Ryder

Ezekiel Jackson

Here’s the description:

“Trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service.

Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal.

Providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members.

Providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

While McIntyre & Ziggler work in WWE, Ryder & Jackson don’t.

Zack Ryder (Matt Cardona) was released from WWE in 2020, but he’s rumored to return to the company. His wife Chelsea Green returned to WWE this year.

Ezekiel Jackson worked on the WWE main roster from 2008 to 2014. He retired from in-ring competition in 2015. He’s a former ECW Champion & Intercontinental Champion.
