On a recent episode of his weekly ‘Everybody’s Got Pod’ podcast, WWF Legend ‘The Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase referred to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns as a modern day version of Hulk Hogan, when it comes to being the face of the company these days.

Here’s what Ted had to say, after he was asked about his favorite current WWE Superstar:

“I’ve got to be real honest. I am not a big fan of the modern era of wrestling.

Roman Reigns, I guess he’s probably one of their biggest stars now, right? Is Roman Reigns the guy?

Is he not like, would he be the Hulk Hogan of the modern day? I think so.”

Roman Reigns recently hit 1,000+ days as the #1 champion in WWE and he’s already up there with the greatest and longest World Champions in WWE/WWF/WWWF history.

Only ‘The Immortal’ Hulk Hogan (1,474 days), Bob Backlund (2,135 days) and record holder Bruno Sammartino (2,803 days + 1,237 days) are still above him on the list of lengthy title runs with the company’s #1 championship. He recently surpassed Pedro Morales’ 1,027 day.

Of course the Universal Title was originally the promotion’s secondary World Title, but since its 2022 unification with the WWE Championship, that is no longer the case anymore.
