• WWE Hall Of Famer Feels AEW Is Like A “Mom & Pop Hamburger Stand”

Old School WCW Legend Eric Bischoff was recently interviewed on an episode of the ‘Out of Character’ podcast, where he compared Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling to the biggest company in professional wrestling history, WWE (fka WWF), by referring to AEW as just a ‘mom & pop hamburger stand’.

Here’s what the 2021 WWE Hall of Famer had to say:

“The product is boring. It’s just nothing new has happened. Nothing has changed. Nothing has emerged. Nothing has evolved. It’s the same formula. Up until recently the same process, we’re talking about WWE which is by far the dominant company.

There is no competition. AEW is not competition, no matter how much Tony Khan wants to believe it is. It’s not.

We’re in the same business, Tony. That’s not the same thing as being in competition. You’re not taking market share, Tony. You’re just in the same business. It’s kind of like having a little mom-and-pop hamburger stand on the corner and saying that you’re in competition with Arby’s. You’re not.”

Despite appearing on AEW TV a few times in brief cameos, Eric Bischoff has hardly anything positive to say about Khan’s company these days, so don’t be surprised if you see him back on WWE TV or even in some capacity behind the scenes rather sooner than later.

Easy E already worked for them as the on-air RAW General Manager from 2002 until 2005 and briefly returned to Vince McMahon’s promotion behind the scenes as ‘Executive Director of SmackDown’ in 2019, a position he only held for about 4 months, before they let him go and replaced him with Bruce Prichard (fka Brother Love).
