Drew McIntyre vs Brock Lesnar - Night 2 Of WrestleMania 36

• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (April 18, 2018) – Old School WWF Legend Passed Away

On this day in 2018, we lost Old School WWF Legend “The Living Legend” Bruno Sammartino at the age of 82 due to heart problems.

During his two reigns as WWWF World Heavyweight Champion, Bruno held the belt for 11 years combined, a record that still stands and it’s safe to say that it will never be duplicated.

Bruno wrestled for Vince McMahon Sr.’s WWWF (later WWF) from 1959 until 1981, and later as a part timer for Vince McMahon Jr.’s World Wrestling Federation from 1984 till 1987.

He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013 by his close personal friend, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

• WWE Hall Of Famer Was Hoping More From Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre At WrestleMania 36

During a recent edition of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley talked about the Night 2 main event of WrestleMania 36 between Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship ending within 5 minutes.

Below is what Bubba said:

“What you got from Brock was a typical match when Brock faces a big guy. It’s, ‘we’re going to hit each other with our biggest artillery, because that’s the only thing that’s going to matter. And we’re cutting out all of the stuff that would get absolutely no reaction and fans probably saw in every other match throughout the night.

So it’s going to be F5, Claymore, German Suplexes, we’re just gonna, you know, just bombard the match with those moves, and we’re going to get a quick finish.’

I don’t think that’s what fans wanted to see. Nobody is a bigger Brock Lesnar supporter than me. I have been flying the flag for Brock on this show, since day one.

Why? Because I was the very first person who got to work with Brock Lesnar. I know how smart Brock Lesnar is, I know what kind of performer Brock Lesnar is.

Listen, was the four and a half minutes good? Sure, yeah, it was. But I had seen that before. I had seen the formula work with Goldberg. I had seen the Brock before [where he] just destroys everything type of psychology before. With Drew, I was hoping for a little bit more.”
