5. “Spot Fests Isn’t The Answer To A Successful Cruiserweight Division on Raw” – Jim Ross
During a recent blog entry on his website, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross reviewed this week’s Raw & SmackDown Live. Both shows got low viewership despite Raw featuring aftermath from Clash of Champions 2016 and SmackDown Live featuring a WWE World Championship match. Below is what JR wrote:
Easy to see how high a priority Reigns vs Rusev is to WWE when they placed that match on Monday night before the Presidential Debate started which destroyed essentially everythhing on TV Monday night including woodshedding Monday Night Football.
Like the potential of a Cesaro/Sheamus tag team if executed aggressively & logically. Tag team scene needs a boost.
Charlotte is morphing into a legit villain. That’s a fleeting skill set.
Remaining hopeful that the Cruiseweights will be successfully developed on RAW. A regular diet of “spot fests” isn’t the answer IMO.
Enjoyed the closing moments of SD Live Tuesday night specifically the work of John Cena with AJ & Ambrose. AJ vs Ambrose was stout.
BTW…Cena on Talking Smack on WWE Network is worth watching No script…real talk….legit results
I’m of the believe that the brand separation is still a work in progress but is showing signs of eventual success. Still of the mindset that we will be better able to make an educated & informed take on the matter when we see what each brand delivers for WrestleMania 33 in Orlando.
