Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day.

• WWE is aiming for NXT to attract a younger audience when the show moves to The CW Network later this year.

Starting on Tuesday, October 1, WWE NXT will air on The CW, with major plans in place for the first few episodes. The premiere will be broadcast from Chicago’s Allstate Arena and will feature CM Punk, while Randy Orton is set to appear on the second episode on October 8 from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

According to PWInsider, WWE has discussed hosting NXT shows outside the Performance Center more frequently to elevate the show’s status as it transitions to broadcast TV. The goal is for NXT to serve as an entry point for younger viewers, who would then explore WWE’s broader programming.

WWE’s strategy for NXT on The CW includes featuring more main roster wrestlers as guest stars and possibly regulars to further strengthen the brand.

Despite plans for more shows outside of the Performance Center, the facility will reportedly remain the primary home for NXT.

• During the TKO earnings call, TKO President Mark Shapiro talked about WWE RAW moving to Netflix in 2025.

Here’s what Shapiro said:

“Don’t underestimate the Netflix play. In the sense that, the Netflix deal for WWE is all about discovery. New audiences, new viewership, casual viewers. You’re going to go to that front page and WWE is going to be right there being promoted and marketed. That’s a whole new audience for us.

The folks who are already fans of WWE, they will follow. It will be an appointment. Netflix will serve to be a real discovery platform with us. Specifically, that will help us when it comes to site fees and sponsorship.”
