Former RAW Women’s Champion Nia Jax was released by WWE in November 2021 during one of the rounds of mass releases the company made that year.

She was reportedly let go after she refused to get vaccinated for COVID-19.

Nia returned to WWE for one night at the Royal Rumble premium live event earlier this year, where she entered the Women’s Royal Rumble match at number 30. Her entry got botched, as her music hit when the counter was still at 10 seconds.

Jax was eliminated when 11 women teamed up to throw her out.

According to PWInsider, there were some rumblings within WWE over the last few days of a potential Nia Jax return. It’s not confirmed if she’s at the venue for tonight’s RAW after SummerSlam, but a few people in WWE have heard her name being mentioned.

In an interview with Renee Paquette last year, Jax said the following about her departure from WWE:

“I stood my ground on certain things that I know that they weren’t happy about.

I was choosing not to go and get the vaccine. It was a personal choice.

I remember sitting down with Vince (McMahon) because the entire 2 years I was there, we were tested every day, and I never popped positive. I never had COVID the whole time.”
