Many wrestlers are becoming free agents, with some choosing to sign new contracts and stay with their current promotions, while others explore better opportunities elsewhere.
Fightful Select reports that AEW is aiming to re-sign Rey Fenix, whose contract is set to expire within the next few months. While the current status of negotiations is unclear, Fenix has reportedly received offers from AEW. Fightful also notes that WWE is expected to extend offers to him.
Below are Rey Fenix’s major accomplishments in pro-wrestling:
– AEW International Champion
– AEW World Tag Team Champion
– AEW World Trios Champion
– TNA / IMPACT World Tag Team Champion
– AAA Mega Champion
– Lucha Underground Champion
Fenix’s tag team partner, Penta El Zero Miedo, is also nearing the end of his contract, and WWE is reportedly interested in signing him as well. There is no current information on how Penta’s contract discussions are progressing.
Signing both wrestlers would be significant for WWE, especially as they aim to expand their presence in Latin American markets. However, All Elite Wrestling is offering competitive deals to many talents, so it’s uncertain whether either wrestler will leave.
Tony Khan recently signed Buddy Matthews to a new big money contract to keep him away from WWE.
