Bray Wyatt returned to WWE last year at the Extreme Rules premium live event.

He had his first televised match since his return at Royal Rumble 2023, where he defeated LA Knight in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match.

Wyatt debuted a new persona during this match:

According to Fight Fans, WWE Officials weren’t “overly fond” of his new persona and how the Pitch Black match turned out, and had talks with Wyatt to bring back “The Fiend”, a 2019-2021 gimmick which was very popular with the fans and sold a lot of merchandise too.

The talks to bring back The Fiend intensified on the road to WrestleMania 39, but as he all know, Wyatt has been on a hiatus due to an undisclosed illness, which resulted in him missing the biggest show of the year and his scheduled match against Bobby Lashley being canceled.

However, there were reports that Wyatt is scheduled to return for SummerSlam 2023, and this event would be a fitting place for The Fiend’s return, as The Fiend’s first televised match took place at SummerSlam 2019.

The Fiend’s last match took place at WrestleMania 37, where he lost to Randy Orton after distraction from Alexa Bliss.
