• WWE Lied To Some Wrestlers About Their Release

WWE released 10 main roster wrestlers yesterday and WWE lied to some of them regarding their release.

According to Fightful Select, word got out backstage that there were going to be budget cuts and some wrestlers asked WWE Officials about their status and they were told that they are safe, only to be released later.

“Multiple people among the cuts had inquired about whether or not they were on the chopping block and were told they weren’t going to be among them, only to be cut.”

A wrestler had the following to say to Fightful’s source:

“It’s just an annual reminder that this is a company, not a family.”

As we noted earlier today, the Wrestling Observer reported that there’s a rumor going on backstage that WWE will release NXT wrestlers today.

The released wrestlers will have a 90-day no compete clause and they won’t be able to sign with other companies until mid-July.
