2. On This Day In Pro Wrestling History – June 2, 2014: Batista Quits WWE Again, The Shield Disbands
On this day in Pro Wrestling history in 2014, former WWE Champion Batista quit WWE for the second time and The Shield disbanded in the main event segment of Raw.
After losing their match to their elimination match to The Shield at Payback 2014, things got heated in the Evolution on Raw. Batista demanded his one on on WWE World Heavyweight Title match, which Triple H refused and this led to Batista quitting the WWE for the second time in 4 years. We haven’t seen Batista in a WWE ring ever since.
Later in the main event segment of Raw, Seth Rollins betrayed his Shield brothers, Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns, by attacking them with a Steel Chair and joining hands with Triple H & Randy Orton.
