On this day in 1985, the World Wrestling Federation aired another episode of their weekly TV show ‘WWF Championship Wrestling’.
This episode was pre-taped at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York and featured matches & interviews on the road to the first ever WrestleMania.

• WWE Officials Believe Former NJPW Champion Is Going To Sign With Them
As we noted before, all the NJPW Champions lost their Titles at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 13.
One of these men is KUSHIDA, who lost his IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship to Taiji Ishimori.
According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE Officials have been after KUSHIDA for a while now and feel that he’s going to sign with them soon.
Speaking of NJPW wrestlers possibly signing with WWE, Wrestling Observer also noted that WWE has made a “fantastic offer” to Kenny Omega (who lost the IWGP Heavyweight Title at WrestleKingdom 13) as we head into WrestleMania 35 season.
It should be noted that Omega’s contract with NJPW expires later this month.
With that being said, Omega has quite a few options now (WWE, NJPW, AEW, ROH…).
It was also noted that NJPW, ROH & AEW will have a meeting today to discuss if they can work together moving forward, but there will be issues in that as AEW is trying to sign wrestlers to exclusive USA deals.
