• WWE Officials Will Be Surprised If Top Star Leaves For AEW This Year

WWE Hall of Famer Edge has revealed in multiple interviews that he wants to retire this year, and he’d prefer to do it with a match in Canada.

An episode of RAW is scheduled to take place in Canada in August this year, and that’s where Edge is rumored to have his final match.

According to WrestleVotes, if Edge retires in August 2023, that would completely be his own decision, and WWE Officials would be really surprised if he ends up going to AEW to work with his longtime friend Christian:

“If he retires the summer in Toronto, I wouldn’t be surprised. I would be surprised if he finishes his current deal and then goes to AEW, WWE would be surprised too.

Even though you’ve got the Christian factor, you know, they could team one more time and wrestle each other one more time, I’d be surprised if he wrestles past WWE. WWE would be very surprised as well.”

Edge recently said the following about his future during an interview on Sirius XM:

“I don’t want to be the guy who, when a young guy like Austin Theory looks at the lineup sheet, goes ‘I got Edge, alright, there’s going to be some work.’ I want Austin Theory to look at it and go ‘whoa okay cool I get to work Edge.’

Just like I did when I looked at the sheet and saw I’m working Mr. Perfect, you know? That’s the feeling I want guys to still have. That’s what I want the audience to have. I don’t want to go past my sell-by date.”

• Old School WWF Veteran Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the 59th birthday of Old School WWF Veteran Crush (Real name: Brian Adams).

Crush became the 3rd member of Demolition in 1990 but stayed with the World Wrestling Federation after the team’s demise in 1991, using several gimmicks until he left in late 1997.

In early 1998, he joined Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling, where he immediately joined the famous New World Order (nWo) faction.

During his final year in WCW, as well as during his very brief WWF return, Brian Adams was put in a Tag Team with Bryan Clark (fka Adam Bomb), called KroniK.
