On this day in Pro Wrestling history on December 12, 1999, the World Wrestling Federation aired their annual ‘Armageddon’ event LIVE on PPV from the National Car Rental Center in Sunrise, Florida.
In front of 17,054 people, Triple H faced Vince McMahon in a ‘No Holds Barred’ match after marrying his daughter Stephanie “against her will” a few weeks earlier.
Despite being on the official WWF Poster, The Undertaker wasn’t part of the event, because he was still injured.

– WWF Championship: Big Show (c) defeated Big Boss Man
– No Holds Barred: Triple H defeated Mr. McMahon
• WWE Possibly Planning A Special Match For Shawn Michaels At WrestleMania 35
As we have noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels is set to return for another match and it would be at WrestleMania 35.
Previously, it was reported that HBK was expected to face either The Undertaker or AJ Styles. But now, a new opponent is being reported for “Mr. WrestleMania”.
According to the No Holds Barred podcast, WWE officials are planning a special “Teacher vs. Student” match between Shawn Michaels & Daniel Bryan.
If this is indeed the match that’s going to go down on April 7, 2019, then this could be a strong indication that Bryan might drop the WWE Championship before WrestleMania 35.
And if Bryan does drop the Title, then the previously reported AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton – WrestleMania 35 match could be for the WWE Championship.
