According to Slice Wrestling, WWE did approve FOX hiring CM Punk for an analyst role on WWE Backstage as one of WWE’s main goal for 2020 is to bring Punk back to the company.

Punk also knows that there’s big time money to be made if he returns to in-ring action because of WWE’s billion dollar TV deals and the Saudi Arabia deal.

WWE has sent out “feelers” to Punk about a possible in-ring return and word going on is that he’s interested in an in-ring return now more than ever because of the amount of money involved and the opportunity he’s getting to be set for life.

WWE is planning to offer a big money part-time deal to Punk, which will see Punk work the major PPVs (WrestleMania and the Saudi PPVs) and also a possible commentary role (as that’s something Punk is interested in).

WWE has already set the groundwork for Punk’s return by having Seth Rollins call him out and Punk calling him a “fool” in return on WWE Backstage.

WWE officials believe that they are at a point where the right amount of money and the right storyline will bring Punk back to the company as an in-ring performer once again and it’s only a matter of “when” and not “if”.
