7. Mark Hunt Responds To Brock Lesnar’s UFC Suspension
As we noted before, former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar has been suspended for 1 year from UFC and below is what MMA Fighting posted:
The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) on Thursday issued former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar a one-year suspension stemming from two failed drug tests in relation to his UFC 200 bout against Mark Hunt.
In addition to the suspension, Lesnar has agreed to pay a $250,000 fine as part of a settlement agreement with the Nevada attorney general’s office. His win against Hunt will be overturned into a no contest.
Mark Hunt, Lesnar’s UFC 200 opponent, said the following to MMA Fighting:
“It’s not harsh enough considering he gets the same punishment as Jon Jones and Jones didn’t fight. Would that penalty have sufficed if I had died or been maimed?”
Lesnar’s MMA record now is 5-3, 1 NC. For those who don’t know, Lesnar was paid $2.5 million for this UFC 200 fight (excluding the cut from PPV buys).
