Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day.
• WWE is escalating its rivalry with AEW by scheduling counterprogramming to compete directly with AEW’s major events. Peacock recently announced two upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event shows, including one on July 12, 2025, which will air at 8 PM ET—the same time as AEW’s All In: Texas at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
It should be noted that the annual All In PPV is considered AEW’s biggest event of the year. So far, AEW has sold 10,802 tickets for this show.
This scheduling decision mirrors WWE’s recent tactics, such as hosting a live event in the same city as AEW’s Worlds End pay-per-view last year. WWE is clearly aiming to challenge All Elite Wrestling’s growing presence by drawing fan attention to their own programming during key AEW events.
Before this showdown, WWE also has Saturday Night’s Main Event scheduled for May 24, and an upcoming installment on January 25 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.

• WWE is gearing up for a major show in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in June 2025, marking the company’s first June event in the Kingdom since 2019’s Super ShowDown.
According to Fightful Select, this could be WWE’s only event in Saudi Arabia this year, breaking the trend of hosting two annual shows in the region, barring the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021.
“Those that we’ve spoken to have thus far only heard of one WWE event planned for Saudi Arabia in 2025, with that being an event targeted for June in Jeddah. WWE hasn’t done a June show in Saudi Arabia since 2019’s Super ShowDown.”
