• WWE Sets A Huge Record With Their Upcoming UK Stadium Show

WWE announced the following a few days back:

Wales to host United Kingdom’s first major WWE stadium event in 30 years at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium

“STAMFORD, Conn., April 12, 2022 – WWE today announced that the first major WWE stadium event to be held in the United Kingdom in more than 30 years will emanate from Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on Saturday, September 3, 2022.

Located in the heart of Cardiff, the capital of Wales – a cultural and sports destination with a world class record in hosting events – the Principality Stadium is a state-of-the-art, multi-faceted event destination and home to the Wales national rugby union team.”

WWE Senior Vice President of Live Events John Porco said the following about this upcoming event:

“Principality Stadium is the perfect place for a major event, hosting our amazing fans from Wales, throughout all of Europe, and around the world.

The weekend will be filled with a variety of WWE experiences that we believe will leave a lasting memory, on par with SummerSlam at Wembley Stadium in 1992.”

WWE was originally planning this event in the UK in 2020, but COVID-19 prevented it. At that time, Drew McIntyre vs. Tyson Fury was planned for this event.

McIntyre tweeted the following about this mega event:

“2 years ago I became WWE Champion and made it my mission to bring a major show to the UK…

WE DID IT!!!”

In an update to this situation, WWE has made history with the announcement of this event.

59,000 Fans registered for the pre-sale tickets in the first 24 hours, which is more registrations for pre-sale of tickets in 24 hours for any WWE event ever, including WrestleMania.
