• Old School WCW Veteran Celebrates His Birthday
Old School WCW Veteran Prince Iaukea (Real name: Michael Hayner) celebrates his 57th birthday today.
He was trained by Dean Malenko but it was The Taskmaster Kevin Sullivan who named him “Prince Iaukea” by taking the name from Sullivan’s friend, Old School Wrestling Veteran King Curtis Iaukea.
Prince Iaukea wrestled for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling from 1996 till 2000 and then went on to wrestle on the independent scene.
During his time in WCW, he won the Cruiserweight Title twice and the TV Title once, but also reinvented himself in 1999, when he became known as “The Artist Formerly Known as Prince Iaukea”, a name based on singer Prince’s name change.
