9. Finn Balor Becomes The Longest Reigning NXT Champion
As of today, April 17, 2016, current NXT Champion Finn Balor has broken Neville’s record for the longest NXT Title reign. Neville’s title reigns was ended at 287 days, while today is Balor’s 288th day as the NXT Champion.
Not only did Balor break Neville’s record, he is now the longest reigning champion in any WWE developmental promotion ever (FCW, OVW, HWA and Deep South Wrestling).
Finn Balor defeated Kevin Owens last year at “Brock Lesnar: Beast in the East” WWE Network special to capture the NXT Championship.
8. NXT Tag Team Now Wearing Masks
The Big Men tag team of Sunny Dhinsa & Gzim Selmani of NXT are now wearing masks and calling themselves “The Authors of Pain”. They beat down Mojo Rawley at a recent NXT Live Event and cut heel promos talking about how “they get paid to hurt people”.
