• WWE Unhappy With Gigi Dolin’s Recent Comments

Former WWE star Gigi Dolin recently spoke about her time in NXT, addressing misconceptions about wrestler salaries. She explained that many fans assume anyone under the WWE umbrella is a millionaire, but that isn’t the case.

Dolin revealed that some NXT contracts are as low as $30,000 per year and added that wrestlers have numerous expenses, including living in Florida, purchasing gear and taking care of their bodies.

The former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion also mentioned that her earnings on the independent circuit have surpassed what she made in WWE.

According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, WWE was unhappy with Dolin’s comments. This is because NXT contracts reportedly start at $75,000 for televised talent. Wrestlers appearing on NXT television make at least that amount, with top stars earning more.

Alvarez also noted that WWE ID talent earn significantly less than NXT’s televised roster. While exact numbers aren’t publicly confirmed, these contracts are likely under $30,000 per year.

Additionally, these deals typically include a clause where WWE has the right to match any outside offer, limiting the talent’s ability to sign elsewhere.

WWE taped the second week of NXT Gold Rush alongside week 1 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Below are the complete results from the show:

WWE EVOLVE Championship Match: Jackson Drake (c) defeated “Super” Sean Legacy.

WWE EVOLVE Women’s Championship Match: Kendal Grey (c) defeated Lainey Reid.

Charlie Dempsey showed up to join Wren Sinclair at ringside. Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley tried to interfere, but the referee barred everyone from ringside.

Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifier: Myles Borne defeated Trick Williams.

TNA Knockouts World Championship Match: Léi Yǐng Lee defeated Jordynne Grace & Kelani Jordan (c).

Grace almost won the match after hitting a Powerbomb on Jordan, but Lee stole the pin to win the title.

TNA’s Tommy Dreamer and Carlos Silva were at ringside for the match.

Vacant WWE Women’s Speed Championship Match: Fallon Henley defeated Zaria.

The match ended in a five-minute draw before Ava called for sudden-death overtime. Zaria attempted a spear on Henley outside the ring, but Jacy Jayne and Lainey Reid pulled Henley out of the way, causing Zaria to crash into the steel steps, after which Henley won the title.

– Trick Williams called out Myles Borne. Borne came out and got the upper hand over Williams. NXT Tag Team Champions DarkState tried to attack Borne, which led to Joe Hendry, Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater making the save. A brawl broke out between the two sides. The babyfaces stood tall to end the show.

It should be noted that despite being advertised, John Cena did not appear on the show to reveal the participants for the Iron Survivor Challenges. This likely means that WWE will tape a video package and air it next week.
