• WWE Wanted To Sign AEW Wrestler As A Referee

According to PWInsider, WWE Officials once wanted to sign AEW wrestler Thunder Rosa as a Referee.

During a recent Q&A session, a fan asked the following question:

“Why wouldn’t WWE want to sign MJF, Anthony Bowens, Thunder Rosa, Kris Statlander, etc. I don’t understand how these names were out there a few years ago and AEW just was able to bring them in. You would think WWE would have had better scouts?”

Mike Johnson of PWInsider then replied:

“They did have great scouts. All of them names you mentioned were looked at by WWE in the past but either were told to check in with the company down the line, get more experience or were told deals were coming and then it took forever.

Bowens had been told WWE had interest forever but never got an offer until he worked for AEW Dark.

Thunder Rosa had been under consideration but the word was they wanted her as a referee.

WWE could have had all of them at one point or another but either decided now wasn’t the time or hesitated on making the offers and in the end, let them slip through their fingers, but I don’t blame the talent scouts for any of that.”

Thunder Rosa is a former NWA World Women’s Champion.
