With the WWE viewership dropping as of late, WWE officials want the Old School veterans to appear more often of WWE programming.
Also, WWE wants to gain more & more WWE Network subscribers every month and this is the reason behind WWE booking a huge match at every PPV (Taker vs. Lesnar at SummerSlam, Sting vs. Seth Rollins at Night of Champions, Taker vs. Lesnar at Hell in a Cell).
With that being said, WWE officials are happy with the Dudley Boyz and how the fans are reacting to their return. The Dudleys are expected to face the New Day in a Tables match at Hell in a Cell 2015 and might win the title at that PPV event. With WWE wanting to improve their tag team division, WWE is open to a return from Matt & Jeff Hardy, the Hardy Boyz.
Matt & Jeff are currently under contract with TNA Wrestling. They both are working tonight’s Bound for Glory 2015 PPV with Matt Hardy in the main event competing for the TNA World Title, while Jeff is the special guest referee for that World Title main event. Jeff Hardy is currently recovering from a leg injury he suffered in a dirt-bike accident. He noted on twitter that he’s also dealing with a torn PCL in his knee.
Matt & Jeff Hardy will become free agents in February 2016 and WWE reportedly wants them for WrestleMania 32, which they plan on making the biggest WrestleMania of all time as they attempt to pack the AT&T Stadium with 100,000 strong WWE fans.
