• 2024 has been the best year of Damian Priest’s career so far, as he won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40.
While Priest lost the World Title to Gunther at SummerSlam, WWE still has big plans for him.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE wants to strengthen Priest’s babyface character with the addition of the vejigante mask from his Puerto Rican culture:
“We’re told that there are talks to strengthen the Damian Priest character in regards to merchandising and appearance. WWE has discussed Priest paying homage to his Puerto Rican culture with him embracing the vejigante mask.
If you recall, Priest has done this mask once before WrestleMania 40 when he came out with Finn Balor for the tag team match.
So we’re told WWE is strongly considering making this part of his character and really turning up his babyface persona.”

• ROH Tag Team Champion and 6-Man Tag Team Champion Dustin Rhodes, who has been a part of AEW since its creation in 2019, is currently a free agent as his contract with All Elite Wrestling has expired.
Fightful Select reports that Rhodes’ contract was set to expire around late September or early October, and since that expiration, he has not competed for the company.
Discussions between Rhodes and AEW are reportedly still underway.
Dustin originally joined AEW to help his half-brother Cody Rhodes, who was an important part of the company back then.
However, since Cody left and is the current WWE Champion, speculation has begun that Dustin might be thinking of leaving as well.
