• WWE’s Original Plan For Roman Reigns’ Replacement At WrestleMania 36

“The Big Dog” Roman Reigns backed out of his Universal Championship match against WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg at WrestleMania 36.

Reigns was then replaced by Braun Strowman, who defeated Goldberg after surviving 4 Spears and then hitting 4 Powerslams to win the Universal Championship.

According to Wrestletalk, WWE officials were considering Jeff Hardy as Reigns’ replacement at WrestleMania 36.

With Goldberg vs. Jeff Hardy taking place, it would’ve resulted in an easy win for the Hall of Famer.

However, with Goldberg not wanting to work past WrestleMania 36, WWE decided to book Strowman in the match, as he’d make a believable opponent to take down The Icon.
