• WWF Legend Praises Chris Jericho For Taking Care Of Him In His Last Big Match

WWF/NWA Legend Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat wrestled his official retirement match on November 27th 2022 in the main event of the ‘BTW Return Of The Dragon’ Indy Wrestling Pay-Per-View at the Dorton Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina.

He teamed with FTR to defeat the team of Nick Aldis, Jay Lethal & Brock Anderson on that night.

However, his last major televised match took place on April 26th 2009 at the WWE Backlash 2009 PPV, where he lost to Chris Jericho via submission.

During a recent interview with Bill Apter, Steamboat praised Jericho for taking care of him in that match, when he said the following:

“You know, I had a really good showing 9 or 10 years ago, or maybe, no, that was 12 years ago, with Jericho. I had a good showing, and god bless him; he took care of me, too.

That was the really last Steamboat (match) that, you know, that people saw. I felt at the time; I was about 70% of the young guy. I can carry my water, carry my weight. That’s the way I want it.”
