• WWF Legend Returning To The Ring After 12 Years

Old School WWF Legend Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat wrestled his last match in June of 2010, when he and his son Richie Steamboat defeated Caylen Croft & Trent Barreta at a Florida Championship Wrestling (WWE’s developmental brand, now known as NXT) LIVE event.

Big Time Wrestling recently announced the in-ring return of The Dragon for their November 27th 2022 show at the Dorton Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Big Time Wrestling’s co-owner Steve Perkins announced the following:

“Ricky Steamboat is one of the greatest of all-time, and we’re excited to bring a legend back to the ring. Interest will be high, and ticket sales will begin today.”

For those who don’t know, Ric Flair approached Steamboat a few months back to compete in his Last Match on July 31st, but Steamboat turned down the offer.

Flair had the following to say about it during an interview with Chris Van Vliet:

“I talked with Steamboat for a long time and he’s got issues with his back and his shoulder. I think that if Ricky wanted to go out, he had that great run with [Chris] Jericho back in 2009 I think.

I think Ricky wanted to go out with that memory, because he was as good back then as he was in his prime. He had some great matches and he liked the, ‘You still got it’ (chant from the fans). Why put that on the line again?”
