Tonight at SummerSlam 2016, the United States Champion Rusev will defend his Title against “The Guy” Roman Reigns. As we noted before, Roman is in the doghouse for failing the WWE Wellness Policy test while being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Due to this, he got pinned at Money In The Bank, Battleground, and on Raw after Battleground.
Speaking of Raw after Battleground, Roman Reigns & Finn Balor fought for a spot in the Universal Championship match at SummerSlam 2016. The match ended with Balor defeating Reigns clean in the match and earning the right to face Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship.
However, the original finish was for Balor to duck a Superman Punch from Reigns and then roll him up to get the win, thus keeping Reigns strong in the process as well. But that didn’t happen as Vince McMahon changed the finish to punish Roman even more and booked Balor to go over clean and look strong in the process.
On the go-home episode of Raw for SummerSlam 2016, Roman Reigns defeated Rusev in a non-title match. This is another hint that Roman won’t be winning the Title this Sunday.
Expect Reigns to take his 3rd straight PPV loss tonight.
