CM Punk returned to AEW after a hiatus of 9 months on the debut episode of Collision back in June.

His problems with The Elite after their brawl at All Out 2022 didn’t end. They ended up growing instead and Punk made more enemies during his final run with AEW.

The former AEW World Champion banned several people from Collision including AEW Head Of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels and Ryan Nemeth.

The final nail in the coffin of Punk’s AEW career was his fight with “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry backstage at All In last week, which happened after Perry took a shot at Punk during the show’s Zero Hour. Punk getting aggressive with AEW President Tony Khan didn’t help him either.

Several people in AEW are happy about Punk’s departure, while some are disappointed. Some are just glad that the tensions have been dealt with and they can focus on work now.

At the end of Collision last night, The Young Bucks came out to save AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR when Bullet Club Gold attacked them.

After the show, Nick and Matt Jackson seemingly celebrated Punk’s release from AEW while some people in the Chicago crowd chanted Punk’s name.

Matt Jackson was seen doing a victory lap.

The Young Bucks will team up with FTR in a match against Bullet Club Gold at the All Out PPV tonight.
