• Zack Ryder Reveals The Photo That He Sent To Vince McMahon On The 2-Year Anniversary Of His WWE Release

Matt Cardona (fka Zack Ryder) was released from WWE on April 15, 2020 (which was the day where WWE released wrestlers for the 1st time due to COVID-19 related budget cuts).

Since then, Cardona has gone on to become one of the top wrestlers on the indy scene, with him currently holding the following 7 Titles:

– NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship

– Impact Wrestling Digital Media Championship

– AIW Absolute Championship

– AIW Intense Championship

– ASW Heavyweight Championship

– NYWC Heavyweight Championship

– Internet Championship (self-proclaimed)

He also became the GCW World Champion, but lost the Title.

He recently posted a photo of him with all these Titles and wrote the following on the 2-year anniversary of his WWE release:

“2 years ago…April 15, 2020…I was released by WWE. It needed to happen.

It was one of the best things that ever happened in my career and in my life. These past 2 years have been incredible.

My goal was never to prove anybody wrong. I wanted to prove my fans and myself right…and I have. And I will continue to do so. I’m still here and I’m Alwayz Ready!”

On his ‘The Major Wrestling Figure Podcast’, Cardona talked about recreating the famous Ultimo Dragon photo with several titles (as seen above) and then sending it to WWE CEO Vince McMahon:

“And speaking of Ultimo [Dragon], I recreated that photo and sent it to Vince McMahon. Well, by the time this comes out, I did.”

During a recent interview, Cardona said the following about the possibility of returning to WWE one day:

“Listen, if Vince McMahon called me, or Bruce Prichard or John Laurinaitis called me, of course, I would pick up. Of course, I would have a conversation. Why wouldn’t I?

I’d be lying right now if I said I never want to wrestle at Madison Square Garden again. Or, I never want to wrestle at WrestleMania again, I would be lying if I said that. Anybody who says that is f**king lying, quite frankly.

But I am not doing what I am doing now hoping to get back. I don’t do what I do thinking, ‘what do I have to do to get back to WWE?’ Or, ‘what do I have to do to get AEW to look at me?’ No, I am doing me.

If those opportunities present themselves, great. But the sport of pro wrestling is on fire right now, you don’t need to be in those two companies.”

Cardona had a 13-year run as WWE main roster wrestler (from 2007 to 2020). He held the following Titles during that run:

– 1x Intercontinental Champion

– 1x United States Champion

– 2x Tag Team Champion
