Wendi Richter was the WWF Women’s Champion during the famous Rock ‘n’ Wrestling era, winning the title twice, first at MTV’s ‘The Brawl to End It All’ event and for a second time at the first ever WrestleMania.
Both times, Wendi had famous music superstar Cindy Lauper in her corner.
In 2010, she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by fellow Rock ‘n’ Wrestling era veteran, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.

• Zack Ryder On What WWE Has Learned From AEW This Year
While speaking on the WrestlingInc podcast, AEW wrestler Matt Cardona (fka as Zack Ryder) compared WWE and AEW’s events during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and said that AEW showed WWE how to do shows during this pandemic.
Below is what he said:
“It’s great that WWE [pressed on], and AEW said, ‘OK, we’re going to press on too, but we’re going to show you how to do it.’ So if you watch, WWE goes ‘oh, hard cam’s here [and] they have people in the crowd,’ so AEW was ahead of the curve. They knew how to do it, and they did it so well.
So even like when I was wrestling, I didn’t realize that I wasn’t in this jam-packed arena because the way they have it set up and the fans around the ring, the wrestlers around the ring and everyone’s so vocal, and everyone wants the show to be great. From people in the back to people the ring want the show to be great. It’s such a great environment.”
Cardona isn’t a full-time AEW wrestler yet, as Tony Khan said that the two sides haven’t reached a deal so far.
