10 Tallest Pro-Wrestlers of All Time

10 Tallest Pro-Wrestlers Of All Time

1. GIANT GONZALEZ (January 31, 1966 – September 22, 2010)

2.31m / 7ft 7in

(billed Height 2,44m / 8ft)

After being drafted to the Atlanta Hawks during the 1988 NBA Draft, Jorge González got signed to a WCW Deal in 1989 by Ted Turner who owned both, the Atlanta Hawks & WCW at that time.

From 1990 till 1992, he wrestled for them as “El Gigante” before joining the World Wrestling Federation as Giant González in January 1993.

He was gone from the WWF by the end of the year and would only wrestle a few matches for NJPW New Japan Pro Wrestling in 1994 & 1995, before retiring from the sport of Professional Wrestling for good.

Still to this day, Giant González is the tallest Pro-Wrestler in History and that most likely won’t change anytime soon.

NOT MAKING THE LIST / NOT A PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER:

THE WILLOW BUNCH GIANT (January 9, 1881 – July 3, 1904)

2.34m / 7ft 8.1in

(billed Height 2.50m / 8ft 2.5in)

The Willow Bunch Giant

While an extremely tall athlete called “The Willow Bunch Giant” fought french-canadian Strongman Louis Cyr in a Ring on March 25, 1901, we can hereby confirm that – despite popular belief – he was NOT a ‘Professional Wrestler’, which is why he did not make our list.

This had been a legitimate fight, something similar to what we know today as Ultimate Fighting, Free Fighting or MMA.

Otherwise the Giant who’s real name was Édouard Beaupré, would be our #1 on this list.
