Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and The Rock.

• WWE Champion Cody Rhodes kicked off tonight’s post-WrestleMania 40 edition of SmackDown and talked about tonight’s Triple Threat Matches to determine his first challenger. Cody said he is no longer the hunter, he is the hunted.

The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Paul Heyman & Jimmy Uso) arrived and were not happy to see Cody Rhodes’ locker room. Solo said he’ll take care of it.

Heyman said this is the consequence of losing and if they want their locker room back, they must win back the WWE Championship, and this is a direct order from “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns.

• Speculation is rife about a potential showdown between The Rock and Cody Rhodes, with WrestleMania 41 being the preferred battleground. However, this plan has yet to be finalized, as Rock retains considerable creative control over his wrestling endeavors.

While there’s talk of Rock possibly participating in a match later this year, nothing is set in stone. His commitments to filming a movie extend through July, making any potential wrestling appearances uncertain.

The recent tease of a Rock vs. Cody confrontation on RAW stirred excitement among fans, despite the absence of a championship stipulation. Currently, there’s no definitive plan regarding the duration of Cody Rhodes’ championship reign.

Interestingly, the Wrestling Observer reports that Rock has floated ideas about defending his self-proclaimed “People’s Championship”, sparking speculation about a potential Title vs. Title scenario. This was further fueled by a symbolic exchange of belts between Rock and Cody during a recent RAW segment.

It’s been suggested that Rock favors a slow-burn approach, envisioning a year-long buildup to the anticipated clash. Had it not been for an injury during his second match against John Cena in 2013, Rock allegedly planned to kickstart a storyline with Brock Lesnar by being laid out by The Beast on RAW after WrestleMania 29, setting the stage for a year-long narrative arc.
