Below are some top AEW & WWE news stories of the day.

• Last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, which featured footage of the CM Punk – Jack Perry fight from All In 2023 being shown, drew 819,000 viewers with a 0.30 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is up from last week’s 752,000 viewers with a 0.23 rating.

AEW President Tony Khan bragged about this viewership increase with the following tweet:

“Just got the great news from TBS Network:

Last night Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite, up 29% from last week, + up 17% over prior 6 week average! Thank you all watching AEW Wednesdays! See you at a stacked TBS wrestling show Wed in Indy + Rampaging & Colliding this weekend on TNT!”

• This past Saturday’s edition of AEW Collision faced an unusual set of circumstances, airing later than usual due to the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament’s Final Four and following the first night of WrestleMania 40. Surprisingly, these factors seemed to work in the show’s favor, particularly in terms of viewership ratings.

Collision garnered 463,000 total viewers and achieved a 0.15 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic. While the overall viewership saw a modest 1% increase from the previous week’s 458,000 viewers, the 18-49 demographic experienced a notable 36% rise from 0.11. This episode marked the highest-rated Collision since February 10, which drew 491,000 viewers and also earned a 0.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic.

While detailed quarter-hour data is not yet available, it is widely believed that Collision benefited greatly from its late-night slot, following NCAA tournament games and post-game coverage, as well as avoiding direct competition with WrestleMania’s first night. The post-show coverage of the Alabama-Connecticut game, which attracted 2.120 million total viewers and earned a 0.59 rating in the 18-49 demographic, provided Collision with a robust lead-in audience.

• Monday’s RAW after WrestleMania 40 drew an average of 2.36 million viewers with a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is up from last week’s 1.78 million viewers with a 0.59 rating.

Viewership for RAW peaked during the Cody Rhodes – The Rock opening segment, which drew 3.20 million viewers with a 1.10 rating in the 18-49 demo.

This segment outdrew the viewership of the “Trial of Roman Reigns” segment from last year, which was the only WWE segment in recent memory to draw over 3 million viewers on TV, until this Cody – Rock segment after a very successful WrestleMania weekend.
