Jey Uso quit WWE after losing to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in a Tribal Combat match in the main event of SummerSlam last month.
The former Right Hand Man of The Tribal Chief last appeared on the SmackDown after SummerSlam, where he took out Reigns and his brothers Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa before making the controversial announcement.
WWE moved him to the alumni section on their website soon after that.
PWInsider is reporting that Jey is in Pittsburgh ahead of the Payback premium live event in the city tonight.
It’s unknown if Jey will appear on screen, or if he will just be backstage.
The timing for this is interesting as Jimmy made his return on last night’s SmackDown and got hit with an Attitude Adjustment for trying to attack John Cena, the Special Guest Host of Payback.
In the main event of SmackDown, Jimmy helped Solo Sikoa defeat AJ Styles. Solo had said Jimmy can’t leave The Bloodline until they tell him to.
Another name that is in Pittsburgh tonight for Payback is WWE Hall Of Famer and Japanese pro wrestling legend The Great Muta. This probably means that he will attend the event.
WWE may have him in the crowd and show him on camera as they usually do for special guests at their events.
The Great Muta wrestled Shinsuke Nakamura during his retirement tour at NOAH: The New Year show earlier this year. Nakamura won the match.
The King Of Strong Style will challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of Payback tonight, so The Great Muta possibly being at the show is interesting.
Muta could even get involved in the match and cost Nakamura the title as Nakamura beat him using the mist during their match, or WWE may shock everyone with a Nakamura title win tonight and have Muta present him the title.
As we reported earlier, NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton is also in Pittsburgh for Payback.
